Commenting on the attempted armed uprising in Russia, the Belarusian President said that the fall of Russia would lead to a devastating catastrophe.
“My point of view is this: if Russia collapses, we will remain under its rubble and perish,” he said, his remarks being relayed by his press service.
Alexander Lukashenko also said he was sure that Western countries “immediately took advantage of” the unrest in Russia and Belarus. According to him, “the threat of global conflict has never been greater” in the face of external attempts to “reverse the situation” and “disorient the populace.”
According to him, against the background of events in Russia, Belarusian opponents abroad were ready to demonstrate to their Western guardians the results of their “work” and were preparing to implement the “scenario of an insurgent army”. But a false start happened.
“We must be stronger than the threat that once again hangs like a shadow over our country – and again from the west. Minsk has the technical capabilities to counteract it,” emphasized Lukashenko.
The head of state announced that various provocations were taking place on the country’s western border “almost daily”. According to him, the Ukrainian side does not stop building walls and barriers on its side, fortifying them and undermining the terrain.
Against the background of recent events in Russia, Alexander Lukashenko ordered the armed forces to be put on high alert.
“History has memories: Belarusians know how to defend their country. We were and will be stronger than any challenge,” emphasized the President.
