Apple doubles the price of iCloud in some countries, but does not intervene in the euro zone yet – iGeneration

Apple just increased the prices of its iCloud storage plans in some countries. The increase isn’t universal—it doesn’t affect the United States, Canada, or euro-billing countries—but it’s still quite large in certain countries, and can reach more than 100%.

It was 9to5Mac who noticed, the increase concerns Brazil and Colombia in America (about 40% increase in both cases), Denmark (+30%), Egypt (+60%), Iceland (3% increase), Norway ( +). 20%), Poland (+25%), Romania (+11%), Saudi Arabia (+8%), Sweden (33%), Turkey (+100%), United Arab Emirates (+8%) or the United Kingdom (+25%) in Europe.

To take this country’s example, the 2TB plan goes from £6.99 to £8.99 per month, for example. In Asia, Kazakhstan is up 40% and Singapore is up 15%.

Finally, note that the new fares page lists new countries with prices in US dollars: Bahamas, Barbados, Bahrain, Cameroon, Georgia, Ghana, Kenya, Moldova, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

In any case, the packages do not change in terms of the amount of data: 50 GB (€0.99), 200 GB (€2.99) and 2 TB (€9.99).
