At $35, this is an excellent price for true wireless earbuds, especially when you could easily pay over $200 on other brands. These are the second generation of Amazon’s true wireless earbuds. Audio is delivered via 12mm drivers (which are actually larger than the Airpods’ 11mm drivers) and call quality is enhanced by dual microphones and an accelerometer for speech recognition. Battery life is up to 5 hours of uninterrupted music playback on a single charge, but the included charging case extends that time to 20 hours. You also get other handy features like multipoint Bluetooth pairing, so you can connect up to two different devices and switch between them with ease.
The Echo Buds don’t have active noise cancellation. It features a semi-in-ear design, meaning the earbuds aren’t fully sealed to prevent all ambient noise from getting into your ear. That means you still get some level of passive noise isolation, but still be able to be aware of your surroundings. Semi-in-ear earphones are more comfortable than earphones, which also seal your ear completely.
Because it’s an Amazon product, it’s designed to work seamlessly with Alexa, Amazon Music, and Audible. Input music, play podcasts, listen to Audible, make calls, set reminders and more—all with the sound of your voice. That doesn’t mean the Echo Buds exclude all other ecosystems.
