Judicial authorities from Nicaragua and China held a meeting

At the meeting, China’s Chief Justice Zhang Jun stressed the importance his government attaches to building the rule of law and equal access to justice.

Noting the independence of the Asian giant’s judiciary, the judge highlighted the modernization process the Chinese judicial system has undergone, which is helping to reduce judicial delays and increase efficiency in handling cases.

For her part, the President of the Supreme Court of Nicaragua, Alba Luz Ramos, presented the structure of the judicial system of this Central American nation as one of the four branches of the state, while also describing the changes promoted by the Sandinista government.

In this sense, he highlighted the actions of the executive led by President Daniel Ortega and Vice-President Rosario Murillo, with the expansion of access to justice, the consolidation of the rule of law and the judicial system.

He also referred to the formulation and implementation of laws on gender equality, combating violence against women and combating drug trafficking.

In addition, he mentioned other regulations related to human trafficking and money laundering, as well as defending national dignity and sovereignty and others that ensure peace, justice and well-being of Nicaraguan families.

According to the note, both judges agreed that Managua and Beijing have structured their judicial systems with the interests of their peoples in mind.

They also agreed that the two nations share similar views on issues related to the administration of justice, defense of national sovereignty and territorial integrity, anti-imperialism and rejection of hegemonic claims, which strengthens bonds of brotherhood.
