Text description of the architects. The 147m2 apartment was designed as a cozy retreat for a single person and to accommodate distant family members including children. Through elements such as wood, linen and cotton fabrics, as well as naturally woven carpets, the project creates a warm yet neutral environment that invites new memories and personal decorative items.

Recognizing that there is no such thing as just one type of white, and recognizing that textures and different planes can construct a space, the living room was encased in a negatively curved white lacquer slat panel, detached from the ceiling a detail that provides indirect lighting that enhances the texture of the ceiling, reminiscent of the softness of sand. In addition, this panel connects to the positively curved freijó slat panel in front of it, which starts in the entryway and continues throughout the kitchen area, creating a single block of wood.

The kitchen is integrated into the living room and was designed with functionality and practicality in mind. It can be closed by a sliding door that has the same finish as the vestibule panel. This integration allows the social area to be adapted to the needs, offering different ways of using the space and allowing a smooth transition between the environments.

The home theater was designed with versatility and comfort in mind through quiet lighting. With specially selected futon pillows, it converts into a guest room that can be moved and converted into relaxed beds, like sleeping at a campsite.

Finally, in its most intimate setting, the details are reflected to create a welcoming atmosphere, from the linen cupboards to the wardrobe covered with colored natural straw, giving a rustic touch to the environment. The more eye-catching colors are reserved for the rest of the furniture, which, while quiet, has a focus on what’s meant to be made out of paintings and objects made out of stories.
