Actress and presenter Carolina Ferraz took to social networks this Wednesday (28) to vent about the “toxic positivity” on the internet. In stories, the artist said that this practice was “very annoying” and “very annoying”.
“I opened Instagram and the first thing I saw was a person saying, ‘Hello, good morning!’ So what have you done today to become a better person?’ I canceled the person. I said, “What is this?” “We wake up and we’re already preached about having to be a better person,” he began. “These people who ‘coach’ happiness are very irritating, this toxic positivity is very annoying, you know?” he added.
Ferraz noted that people need time to experience pain and sadness before moving on. “I have a friend, her mother died. Make the person suffer, folks! Let her mourn, she will recover, that’s clear. But to recover, you have to go through that pain,” he said.
Then the actress explained that it is not possible to do this practice every day. “You can’t wake up every day and say, ‘Wow, what did I do today to be the person I want to be tomorrow?’ Why this? Some days I wake up and the best thing I can do is wake up, go to work, and answer my email. “The best thing I can do that day is do everyday things,” he explained.
