Five big cruise ships in front of the small island of Mykonos: the video

On Tuesday, June 27, the port of the small island of Mykonos resembled a cruise ship parking lot, with five boats anchored side by side, as seen in pictures taken by Georgios Hatzimanolis. “In just one day, 15,000 cruise ship tourists landed on the island without the infrastructure to accommodate such a large number of visitors.”

Official data from the Union of Greek Ports shows that Mykonos and Delos are expected to receive a total of 895 cruise ships this year, up from 608 last year. The neighboring island of Santorini is also experiencing a similar trend, with 753 cruise ships expected by the end of the year, up from 686 in 2022. (from EB)
