Grenoble. 12,000 people celebrate Eid al Adha at Lesdiguières Stadium Le Dauphiné Libéré

Eid al-Adha is the most important Muslim holiday. It commemorates the act of Prophet Abraham’s submission to God through the ritual sacrifice of a sheep, but is also an occasion for celebrations and visits to friends and family.

In Grenoble, at dawn on June 28, the faithful were invited to this moment of prayer at the Lesdiguières stadium by the Federation of Mosque Associations of Isère (Fami), chaired by Nabil Chetouf.

It was Imam Mohamed Laakri Cii who initiated this great prayer, while Liesse El Habbas, the treasurer of the family, wanted to collect as many donations as possible to be able to pay the Lesdiguières stadium rent. At each exit of the stadium, young Muslim men and women collected donations from the faithful from the 12,000 people who attended the prayer.

A very nice meditation celebration, despite the huge traffic jam caused by the influx of people in the area, at the end of Eid al-Adha.
