Kathy Griffin claims Madonna, 64, is a victim of ageism and misogyny

Kathy Griffin claims Madonna is a victim of ageism and misogyny after the singer faced unwarranted online abuse following her hospitalization over the weekend.

The 64-year-old pop legend was found unconscious in New York on Saturday and taken to the intensive care unit, where she was reportedly intubated overnight.

Her 84-date Celebration tour, originally slated to kick off July 15 in Vancouver, has since been postponed as she recovers from a “bacterial infection.”

But while the singer received a spate of supportive messages from fans around the world, a minority either criticized her looks or claimed her illness was a tactical ploy to boost ticket sales.

Griffin, 62, dismissed the negative comments on Twitter and TikTok on Thursday as a nasty reaction to Madonna’s age and gender.

In a short video, she said, “I don’t know what’s wrong with Madonna, I don’t know but I love her and I want to defend her.” I’ve never met her. I’ve seen her at concerts, of course, and I think she’s provided the world with music and entertainment for decades.

“But I don’t like how people are already making fun of the fact that she’s obviously quite ill or has collapsed and she’ll be fine — we don’t know anything yet.”

She added, “I’ll be honest, I think a lot of it is ageism and misogyny.” Sorry, but as a 62-year-old girl I have to deal with this all the time, and it’s driving Madonna crazy!

“So I don’t care about your pens; They will disappear whether she feels like it or not. “Her health is important to me and I’m glad she can do this tour again and the tour is the biggest hit and it should be great.”

Madonna’s condition was so serious that her relatives were “preparing for the worst,” a family member told .

On Wednesday, her manager Guy Oseary announced that she was suffering from a “serious bacterial infection” and needed time to recover, which is why she is postponing her tour, which is due to start in Vancouver on July 15.

The Michigan-born singer’s relative told they spent several traumatic days unsure if she would make it.

The family member said the shocking breakdown was a wake-up call for Madonna, who believes she is “invincible” and has been working extremely hard to prepare for the tour.

The ‘life-threatening’ condition that derailed Madonna’s tour: what are bacterial infections and what causes them?

It’s not known exactly what type of infection Madonna has, but bacterial infections can affect many different parts of the body, including the skin, lungs, brain, and blood, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

“The most common bacterial diseases include urinary tract infections, food poisoning, sexually transmitted diseases and some skin, sinus and ear infections,” explains the medical association, pointing out that the most common form of treatment is a course of antibiotics.

“There are many bacterial infections that are not usually serious or are easily treated with antibiotics,” it says. “However, any bacterial infection that penetrates deep into your body, such as your blood, heart, lungs or brain, can be life-threatening.”

“In the past few days, no one really knew where things were going to go, and her family was preparing for the worst,” the relative said.

“That’s why it’s been kept secret since Saturday.” Everyone believed we might lose them and that was the reality.”

Madonna is the mother of six children: Lourdes, 26; Rocco, 22; David, 17; mercy, 17; and 10-year-old twins Stella and Estere.

Lourdes was by her side throughout her hospital stay, the New York Post reported.

The family source told their sudden hospitalization united them.

“All of Madonna’s family members have come together about this,” the relative said.

And it reminded the singer that she had to take care of herself.

“That really woke her up.” Her life isn’t as healthy as it should be for her age, and she’s lost weight in the last few months.

“She thinks she’s young when she really isn’t.” She also believes she’s invincible.’
