One attitude in particular worried management.
Barbie is one of the most anticipated blockbusters of 2023 and already has a legion of fans everywhere she goes. The feature film will bring the adaptation of one of the world’s most famous dolls to the big screen, with the presence of Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling and the signature of director Greta Gerwig.
During an interview with Time Magazine, Mattel President Richard Dickson admitted that he had to discuss some issues with Gerwig in the film. The reason would be a scene he judged “upset” which only relaxed once the filmmaker and Robbie convinced him the shot would add much to the work.
“If you look at the script, there’s no nuance. “The acting isn’t right,” explained Barbie’s leading lady, who had to perform the controversial scene live for Dickson to convince him.
It’s worth remembering that speaking to the Fandango website, Margot already assumed that she had made her own adjustments to the script. “I always tell the director, ‘Please let me do my own thing. “I don’t like knowing I didn’t do it,” he said. The production seems to have a lot of trust in the actress, who has already proven she can judge when to speak up.
