Seven facilities in the region will provide $489,319 from the Quebec government to improve and beautify school playgrounds.
This was announced on Thursday by Duplessis’ minister and deputy for the Côte-Nord region, Kateri Champagne Jourdain, and René-Lévesque’s deputy, Yves Montigny.
On the Sept-Îles side, the Marie Immaculé and Jacques Cartier schools were selected for financial support. Outdoor areas will be set up so that young people can engage in a variety of physical activities at school and in all seasons.
“The new facilities will have a positive impact on the daily lives of all these young people,” commented Deputy Minister Kateri Champagne Jourdain.
