Another practical consequence of Bolsonaro’s path through the presidency were the obstacles posed by the presence of military personnel in key government positions. This rapprochement between uniforms and politics led to a series of crises and inevitably to damage the image of the armed forces.
The reputation of neutrality expected by the armed forces went to the Cucuias.
One of the most notable examples is the appearance of Eduardo Pazuello, an army general in charge of the Ministry of Health.
His leadership was marked by mistakes, lack of planning and bad faithwhich cast doubt on the military’s ability to deal with a government crisis.
There have also been cases of military personnel being involved in corruption cases or accused of irregularities, and even one incident International cocaine trafficking on airplanes of the Presidency of the Republic.

The presence of the military in government was also linked to reprehensible policies and ideology.
Important sections of society saw them as overly influential in carrying out farright goals, as exemplified by the threepower invasions of January 8th and 19th Vigils for the coup between the end of the captaincy and commencement of President Lula’s term.
