MADRID, July 1 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The person in charge of the Russian-controlled part of Ukraine’s Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo, assured on Saturday that in the last few hours Russian forces have “liquidated” the Ukrainian presence that managed to cross the regional front and the region Kherson to reach east bank of the river Dnieper.
American experts from the Institute for War Studies noticed signs of the arrival of a Ukrainian detachment in April in the eastern part of Kherson occupied by Moscow, and precisely this Saturday the British Ministry of Defense noted a concentration of Ukrainian forces in the area during the last week intense fights.
Now Saldo announced on his Telegram account that “Russian forces have completed the liquidation of Ukrainian forces on the left bank of the Dnieper, near the Antonovsky bridge”.
According to Saldo, Russian special forces soldiers “performed a surprise attack from behind last night” in which forces from the Tormenta Detachment, marines, coastal defenses, reserve brigades and motorized gunners participated.
However, the so-called “governor” of the Russian administration of Kherson confirmed attempts by Ukrainian forces to cross the Dnieper near the Antonovsky Bridge since earlier this week. For several days, Ukrainian armed forces have been hiding “under the preserved parts of the infrastructure and in the nearest houses”.
British military intelligence was able to estimate that the bridge had been destroyed.
