Fans of the baseball team that won the Louisiana State University national championship certainly have interesting ways to celebrate their achievement.
Nick Perlin, a reporter for ABC affiliate WBRZ in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, interviewed a young fan attending the celebrations at LSU’s Alex Box Stadium.
But the young player, 11-year-old Blaysen Zimm, took the opportunity on camera to introduce his mother to the Tigers’ star player, pitcher Paul Skenes.
In a now-viral video, Blaysen stepped up to the mic and said, “Paul Skenes my mom’s single man.” “I need you,” laughed those around him.
Skenes saw the video and even “liked” it on Twitter as the clip grew in popularity and popularity.

Blaysen’s mother Haley said her phone “exploded” after her son’s viral moment.
In a subsequent interview, reporters met Blaysen’s mother, Haley Zimm, who said her phone blew up on the drive home from the party.
“Just looking through the comments, everyone’s like, ‘That boy is the GOAT,’ and I’m like, ‘Damn, that’s him,'” Haley told WBRZ.
Haley described Blaysen as the quieter of her two children – alongside his eight-year-old brother Brody.
Blaysen said he’s seen his face all over social media apps like TikTok – with the 11-year-old saying: “It’s not normal.”
But Blaysen said he had no intention of going viral at all, saying he was “just taking care of my mama.”
“I want her to be taken care of and I love her,” added Blaysen.
As for Haley, she says she hasn’t considered dating the 21-year-old California pitcher in the past, but says she’s interested in the idea.
Skenes won the Most Outstanding Player award when LSU won that year’s College World Series
Blaysen and some of his teammates on the Louisiana Pride baseball team are hoping that Skenes and some LSU players will show up for one of their practices.
Skenes won the Most Outstanding Player award at this year’s Men’s College World Series as fifth-placed LSU edged out second-placed SEC rivals Florida.
It is the Tigers’ seventh national baseball title and their first since 2009.
Skenes is predicted by MLB.com as the No. 1 pick ahead of the 2023 MLB draft, which takes place on July 9. The top pick in this draft is the Pittsburgh Pirates.
