Lauren Harries’ mum opens up about her heartbreaking health update after the CBB star is bedridden in hospital

Lauren Harries’ mother has shared a heartbreaking health update after the star was bedridden and will remain in hospital following failed surgery on her spine.

The former Celebrity Big Brother flatmate, 45, was originally admitted in April after suffering a terrible headache and fainting spells before undergoing emergency brain surgery.

Now her mum, Katy, has revealed doctors found a tear in Lauren’s spine during an MRI scan, which meant she needed “high-risk” surgery.

However, Katy has sadly revealed to fans that the surgery was “unsuccessful” and Lauren will remain in hospital for the foreseeable future despite desperately wanting to “go home”.

Taking to her daughter’s official Twitter account, she wrote, “Lauren had to have spinal surgery because her spine was split.” “It was very painful. It’s worrying because the spine is the most dangerous place to have surgery next to the brain.”

“Unfortunately, the operation was unsuccessful, so the doctors are considering other options.” She has been in the hospital for over 2.5 months now.

Before I add, “Her spine is worrying the doctors and she’s going to be staying longer.” We don’t know why or how that happened. She just wants to go home.”

Last month it was reported that Lauren had been put into an induced coma after undergoing major brain surgery.

Her family informed her fans, saying on Lauren’s Twitter: “Last night Lauren had a seizure and doctors had to put her in an induced coma to get it under control.”

“Lauren needs all your support and wishes, she loves you all.”

This comes after brave Lauren posed for photos at the hospital following emergency surgery that saw her hair shaved off.

Lauren’s mum took to her Twitter page to give fans an update, assuring her followers that her daughter would be home soon.

She wrote, “Lauren is having physical therapy to regain strength after surgery.” She is still in the hospital but hopefully will be home soon.

Lauren was hospitalized last month ahead of her emergency brain surgery.

Earlier this month, she shared with her fans on her social media pages that he nearly died as a result of her illness.

The TV personality took to her Instagram Stories to say to her followers, “Hello my stars.” Well, I’m still in the hospital.

“When you’re about to die, enjoy every moment.” So enjoy the sunshine and know that I love you. Light, Love and Peace.’

She then shared a picture of one of her self-portraits, which she sells on her website, as well as a couple of get well cards she received.

The reassuring post came a day after Lauren’s mum called Katy for help over Lauren’s “incredibly scary” fainting spells and headache.

Lauren was first hospitalized for the procedure on April 14, the cause of which was unknown.

Katy has updated on her daughter’s condition and has now asked for help as the NHS struggles to find answers after saving her life.

“She’s awake and talking again in neurology.” Again, I want to say thank you to all the amazing staff at Heath Hospital. She still has a way to go, but she is strong. Pray for her.’

Lauren rose to fame as a precocious 12-year-old antiques expert named James, who appeared on Antiques Roadshow and Wogan before undergoing sex reassignment surgery in 2003.

The latest health update comes a week after Katy told fans Lauren has been transferred back to the recovery area where she is “under close surveillance”.
