Many celebrities were so successful on Brazilian television that audiences still remember them fondly, even though they are no longer alive.

A famous communicator entered the history of television when he became extremely popular, but in the end he met a sad end when he felt sick live, called the commercials and finally died on the stage of his show.

The famous that matters is the brilliant Flavio Cavalcanti (19231986), the star made appearances on the country’s main open television networks: Tupi, Band and SBT, where he debuted with superstar status.

In an edition of his program in 1986, Flávio Cavalcanti was not well and had a bad feeling. The presenter called the commercial and didn’t come back, who hurriedly relieved him Wagner Montes justifying the headliner’s absence: “You must be wondering why I’m presenting the program. I’m sorry, but I was also caught spontaneously.”

“But Flávio was a little unwell and, God willing, he’ll be here next Thursday because his job here is to lead the ‘Flávio Cavalcanti program,'” said Wagner Montes.

Upon admission to the hospital, it was discovered that Flávio Cavalcanti had suffered a heart attack. The presenter was treated in hospital for four days, recovered and left intensive care to visit friends and family.

What few could have imagined was that the communicator would receive a new stop that would be fatal and result in his dying at the age of 63.

WHAT SILVIO SANTOS DID?

After the death of one of his main presenters was confirmed, Silvio Santos expressed his solidarity, as reported by Flávio Cavalcanti Jr., the artist’s son, during an interview with Arquivo Marckezine.

“Silvio [Santos] was the first person to arrive at the hospital when he died. He said, “Whatever you need, you have it.” He provided me with an SBT consultant if I needed anything.”

The presenter’s heir recalled that SBT’s owner even took the station off the air as a sign of grief at the death of his contractor: “He warned me that he had ordered the station to be taken off the air as a sign of grief I didn’t return until the plane carrying my father’s body landed in Rio. I am very grateful to him,” said the late communicator’s son.

Silvio Santos also showed his solidarity by leaving a statement on the SBT screen for hours, rejecting his normal program: “We are saddened by the death of our colleague Flávio Cavalcanti, who will be buried in Petrópolis at 4 p.m. today when we return with normal programming.”, read the message.
