NHL: Drafted three places lower than Jesperi Kotkaniemi, he does not have waivers

Some Montreal Canadiens fans wanted the team to draft him in the first round of 2018, but forward Filip Zadina was waived on Monday.

While Habs fans still regret the selection of Jesperi Kotkaniemi in third place at the amateur auction five years ago, Wings fans were not at all impressed with Zadina, who was named sixth in the same session. With two years left on his contract and an average annual value of $1.825 million, the 23-year-old Czech has 68 points in 190 National League games.
