Mr. Big was never good for Carrie. Aidan Shaw, played by John Corbett, is the real dream guy she let escape in Sex and the City. It looks like he’ll be back in the sequel’s second season.
Judging by the trailer, Aidan and Carrie are set to get back together, and some of their old feelings might even resurface this season. Carrie grieved the loss of her late husband John in Season 1 and now she’s ready to give dating another try. Twenty years later, could she and Aidan finally be a match?
In February, Sarah Jessica Parker got our hearts racing when she shared some teaser photos of Carrie and Aidan kissing in Season 2. So there’s a good chance they’ll get together in the end!
However, it seems that this is not what the fans want. And Just Like That… hasn’t become a worthy sequel to the Sex and the City series yet. Each episode has a bewildering array of storylines, the new characters are two-dimensional, and the old ones are completely unrelated to their old selves.
Redditors fear the writers will ruin Aidan too. Carrie was always selfish when it came to Aidan, and honestly, she never deserved him. Even their kiss in Sex and the City 2 isn’t considered canon by most fans because cheating on his wife is so un-Aidan.
In And Just Like That… Carrie may have moved on after Mr. Big’s death, but she still treats her friends wrong and makes everything out of herself. Fans want Carrie to grow up and become less self-centered before dating Aidan or anyone else.
Otherwise, the next affair with Carrie could ruin the poor guy, and Aidan is way too cute for that. Honestly, we just want his family life to end happily. A husband and father, Aidan deserves a quiet life without drama — and Carrie can’t offer that.
