The presenter and Flávia, who was his wife at the time, moved into the apartment in the 1990s. Originally the property was not semidetached, so Jô bought two houses on top of each other and converted them into a two bedroom apartment. Floors.
Jô featured the apartment on TV Globo’s Estrelas show in 2011 and shared details about his move there.
“One Sunday Flávia woke up and said: ‘Shall we look for a house?’ […] We searched the whole city. Five or six apartments. They were all very expensive and minimalistic. Then the two agents said, ‘There’s nothing left, just an old apartment.’ It has two downsides: there’s no ballroom and no playground.’ I said, “Where is it?” That’s what I want.
“When he opened the door and I saw all the wood, I was like, ‘Oh, that’s it. And it was really cheap,'” he added. Equipped with wooden walls and doors, the walls of the apartment were covered with photographs and works of art, there was also a library, a hairdressing salon and a chapel dedicated to Santa Rita de Cássia, to whom Jô was venerated.
