Kevin Spacey arrives at Southwark Court in London for the third day of his trial
Actor Kevin Spacey has kissed a man twice and grabbed his crotch while telling his alleged victim to “be cool”, a court in London has heard.
The man, whose name cannot be released for legal reasons, claims he was approached by the actor after accidentally letting his dog out.
His police interview was played to a jury at Southwark Crown Court on the third day of Mr Spacey’s trial.
The US actor faces twelve charges, all of which he denies.
The accuser told police in the recording that he was working in a pub at the time the actor walked in with a small dog.
He said Mr Spacey was sitting by the sofa and introducing himself.
The man later told the actor that there was “very limited” activity in the area where they were staying and that when work was done he would meet up with some friends at another pub.
The man told the detective that Mr. Spacey replied, “Cool, maybe I’ll see you down there.”
When the man got to the other pub he said he heard an American accent calling his name and looked up to see Mr Spacey.
The complainant then informed the detective that he and others then returned to Mr Spacey’s whereabouts for drinks.
During the drink, the complainant said he was looking for a coat in one of the cupboards and remembered a “little dog” darting out from between his legs.
The man said he turned, picked up the dog, and brought the animal back into the room.
At the time, he claimed the actor approached him in a “hug motion.”
“We did an awkward man hug … he hugged me, I sort of patted him on the back.”
“At that point he kissed my neck twice and grabbed my crotch. He said the words ‘Be cool, be cool’ twice.”
“I put my arm between us and pressed it against a wall. I said, ‘I’m sorry, I don’t bat for this team’.”
He said Mr Spacey had a “panic” look on his face and left the room.
The complainant said he then “standing for a few seconds almost in disbelief that this had happened”.
He left the property and called his father in “slight panic”.
During police interrogation, he told the detective he remembered thinking his father wouldn’t believe him because it was an April Fool’s joke.
Mr Spacey faces allegations of sexual assault in connection with that complainant, which the actor denies.
In January, Mr Spacey – known by his full name Kevin Spacey Fowler at the trial – pleaded guilty to three counts of indecent assault, three counts of sexual assault and one count of inducing a person to abstain from sexual activity press, on not guilty consent.
He also previously denied four other charges of sexual assault and one count of inducing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent.
It is these 12 charges that Mr Spacey is currently facing in court, which were brought by four men between 2001 and 2013.
All four accusers are legally entitled to lifelong anonymity.
