Created by agency AlmapBBDO, the Generations commercial brought mother and daughter back together using artificial intelligence.
During production, Maria Rita manages the recently introduced ID.Buzzwhile Elis drives a classic station wagon whose production in Brazil ended in 2013.
Elis’ original voice was preserved. The singer’s face was recreated from archive footage and captured from the internet.
An actress played the singer: Elis’ face was later added using facial recognition technology.
The commercial, launched less than 12 hours ago, is already a hit on social networks: Maria Rita’s name is among the most commented on on Twitter.
