The severe storms that have been battering the metropolis since late Tuesday morning are disrupting the status of certain flights at Montreal-Trudeau Airport.
“For security reasons, the lightning alarm actually disrupts flight schedules, ground operations and baggage delivery,” the airport organization said on Twitter at the beginning of the afternoon.
The strobe alert will cause disruption to flight schedule, ground operations and baggage delivery for safety reasons.

Montréal-Trudeau therefore recommends its passengers to check flight status with the airlines before proceeding to the airport.
At the same time, 26 flights were canceled at Montreal Airport and 98 were deemed delayed, according to the FlightAware website.
Environment Canada had issued a weather alert to monitor severe thunderstorms for the metropolitan area.
“Through tonight, conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms that can produce strong gusts, large hail and heavy rain,” the warning reads.
Lightning and thunder also struck the regions of Estrie, Lachute-Saint-Jérôme, Lanaudière, the Laurentians, Mauricie, Saguenay and the Richelieu-Saint-Hyacinthe and Vaudreuil-Soulange-Huntingdon valleys.
