According to a new report, Iceland is the most peaceful country in the world for the 15th year in a row, while the world as a whole has become slightly less peaceful.
The Institute for Economics and Peace recently released its annual 2023 Global Peace Index, which ranks the ten countries known for their peace and tranquility.
The 2023 ranking places Iceland first as the most peaceful country in the world, while two other Icelandic countries – Denmark and Ireland – follow suit, taking the second and third most peaceful places respectively. Here is the full list of the ten most peaceful countries in the world:

Of the 163 countries listed, the United States was ranked 131st. According to the study, the United States experienced the fourth largest overall increase in its homicide rate, which “is now over six per 100,000 people and is more than six times higher.” than most western European countries.”
According to the Institute for Economics and Peace, the gap between the least and the most peaceful countries continues to widen. Since 2008, the number of the 25 least peaceful countries has decreased by an average of 12.1%, while the number of the 25 most peaceful countries has improved by 4.3%.
