Cuban-American singer Seidy La Niña, self-proclaimed “Celia Cruz reincarnated,” has had troubles with artist Maydy la Grande.
It all started with “La Mulatica” making some controversial statements that went viral on the internet and brought him a lot of criticism.
“Do you believe in reincarnation? The only woman who will be represented with the same Azuquita as Celia Cruz is Seidy La Mulatica. I am the only one in the world who is following in their footsteps and I have no intention of discussing this with anyone,” he said.
As a result of these statements, Maydy la Grande issued a direct statement stating that this was completely false and that she was disparaging her peers.

“And also that the ego was too big,” Maydy said in a video she shared on her Instagram account, in which she was reminiscing.
The strike (penalty) for the version of “Quimbara” will not be lifted, says Maydy La Grande
During the broadcast, La Grande challenged La Niña to prove if she was the best and the only one who could represent Celia.
And then Seidy responded in a way that surprised many: He inserted a fragment of Maydy’s live performance into his song “Quimbara,” which popularized the Cuban guarachera.
That’s what Maydy la Grande tells us in her own words, demanding a “formal and public apology” from the singer.

The video would have been removed from YouTube after the penalty (strike) for using third-party content (Photo: Screenshot / YouTube)
Along with this complaint, the illegal use of the fragment, which was used without the original author’s consent or permission, was reported to YouTube.
“We demand the immediate removal of Maydy La Grande’s content from all platforms on which it was distributed,” he added.
The penalty, or strike, that YouTube uses to notify anyone who violates the platform’s Acceptable Use Policy was introduced in 2019.

Maydy La Grande assured that “the strike will not be lifted until my company’s demands are met and respected.”
Maydy says the video was removed from YouTube and, as we saw in his comment, Seidy assured that he would come back.
“What God has for me, neither you nor anyone else can stop! “KIMBARA stands behind my people,” wrote the defendant.
Meanwhile, Celia Caridad Cruz y Alfonso, the “Queen of Salsa,” “La Guarachera de Cuba,” smiles mischievously and tosses “Azúcarrrr” from eternity to “La Niña” and “La Grande.”
