At the main station, the woman and man got off the train to make a phone call. “But then the doors closed and the train left – without the parents, but with the child in the stroller,” a federal police spokesman said on Wednesday. Federal police officers contacted by the couple found that the train’s next stop would be Freising, a good 30 kilometers away. They informed the state police there, who received the child at the train station. They also contacted the train attendant who was looking after the child and the family’s luggage. A Munich policeman who was traveling with him also helped look after the child in Tuesday’s incident. The Federal Police brought the child and luggage back to Munich, where the 34-year-old mother reportedly happily hugged him.
