After a huge reception at the Cannes Film Festival, Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon has received its first full-length trailer from Apple.

Scorsese reunites with frequent partners Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro in the historical drama starring Lily Gladstone and Jesse Plemons.

Eric Roth and Scorsese adapted the screenplay from David Grann’s book of the same name, which tells the story of the Osage murders in which Native Americans were killed to gain access to their wealth and oil-rich lands. The film tells the story of the murders and the subsequent federal investigation through the romance of Ernest Burkhart (DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (Gladstone).

Tantoo Cardinal, John Lithgow, Brendan Fraser, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion, William Belleau, Louis Cancelmi, Tatanka Means, Michael Abbot Jr., Pat Healy, Scott Shepard, Jason Isbell and Sturgill Simpson round out the cast.

“The three and a half hour running time is fully justified in an escalating tragedy that never lets up – a sordid illustration of historical obliteration with echoes of today’s bitterly divisive political shenanigans,” reads ‘s Cannes Film review.

“I knew when I heard something [the Osage] Values are about love, respect and love for the earth – and I’m not talking about making this a political issue; I speak about how to really live on this planet – it’s reoriented me every time I’ve heard it,” Scorsese said at the festival.

Killers of the Flower Moon has a limited release in IMAX theaters on October 6th and major cinemas on October 20th, before streaming worldwide on Apple TV+.
