Shenzhen Xunlong Software has launched the Orange Pi Zero 3, a compact SBC that is expected to be more powerful than the Orange Pi Zero 2. The new single-board computer costs less than $15 and can be configured with up to 4GB of RAM.

Shenzhen Xunlong Software has released the Orange Pi Zero 3, a 55 x 50mm single board computer (SBC) that succeeds its three-year-old predecessor. As Liliputing notes, the Orange Pi Zero 3 is similar to the Orange Pi Zero 2, the Pi Zero 3 is similar to Orange’s Pi Zero 2, with 26-pin and 13-pin connectors stretching across the top and bottom of the device, respectively . Likewise, the first has the following ports:

  • 1x Gigabit Ethernet
  • 1x Micro HDMI
  • 1x MicroSD card slot
  • 1x USB Type-C
  • 1x USB 2.0 Type-A

However, Shenzhen Xunlong Software replaced the Allwinner H616 with an Allwinner H618, a quad-core processor (ARM Cortex-A53). In addition, the Allwinner H618 features an ARM Mali-G31 MP2 GPU and 1MB L2 cache. Additionally, the Orange Pi Zero 3 supports up to 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and has 16MB of SPI Flash memory, compared to 1GB of DDR3 RAM and 2MB of SPI Flash memory for the Orange Pi Zero 2.

Due to the chipset change, the Orange Pi Zero 3 supports newer operating system distributions such as Android 12 for TV, Debian 11/12 and Ubuntu 20.04/22.04. See the Orange Pi wiki for more information. The Orange Pi Zero 3 starts at $14.90 with 1GB of RAM, or $16.90, $19.90, and $25 for the 1.5GB, 2GB, and 4GB variants. Come on.
