The figures are in for the Powerball lottery jackpot for Wednesday, July 5, valued at an estimated $546 million with a $282.0 million cash option.
The winning numbers drawn on Wednesday July 5th were 17, 24, 48, 62, 68; The Powerball was 23. The Power Play, a bonus multiplier for some out-of-state ticket holders, was 2X.

In Monday’s Powerball drawing, there was no grand prize winner because a winning ticket didn’t match all six numbers, causing the jackpot to skyrocket. According to a Powerball press release, Wednesday’s estimated $546 million jackpot would be worth $282 million in cash if paid out as a lump sum.

The last Powerball jackpot was won on April 19 when a ticket in Ohio matched all five white balls and the red Powerball to win a $252.6 million prize.

Since then there have been 32 consecutive draws without a jackpot winner.
POWERBALL, MEGA MILLION JACKPOTS TOTAL NEAR $1 BILLION
If a player wins the Powerball jackpot on Wednesday night, they’ll have a choice of an estimated $546 million in annual winnings or a $282 million lump sum.
If nobody wins the jackpot on Wednesday, the next drawing will take place on Saturday 8th July. If someone picks the lucky numbers, Saturday’s draw will reset to $20 million.

The probability of hitting the grand prize jackpot is 1 in 292.2 million.

Powerball tickets are $2 per game. Tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. The deadline for purchasing tickets is 9:45 p.m. on draw evenings.
