A chilling excursion into the horrors of the Holocaust through the drama experienced by a musician in occupied Poland. Wladyslaw Szpilman, a brilliant Polish pianist of Jewish descent, lives with his family in Warsaw. When the Germans invade Poland, he manages to avoid deportation thanks to the help of a few friends, but has to live in hiding and in total isolation. Roman Polanski deals with the misery of a monstrous society and its innocent victims and overlays the story with a tone that oscillates between the ghostly and the poetic.

Modelo Prison in Barcelona is the setting for this suspenseful prison intrigue based on real events, which won five Goya Awards in the last installment. With two notable performances, Miguel Herrán (La casa de papel) and Javier Gutiérrez (La isla mínima) bring to life a young accountant imprisoned awaiting trial and his cellmate, two characters who will join a group who fights in Spain at the beginning of the seventies for the rights of ordinary prisoners and for amnesty. A story about friendship, solidarity and freedom and an authentic socio-political portrait of contemporary Spain.
