Bradley Walsh’s son is catching up on his father’s £18.6million fortune after landing a string of lucrative jobs that include a bidding war between the BBC and ITV

As the king of entertainment television, Bradley Walsh has amassed a fortune of £18.6million.

But his son Barney could be catching up after landing a string of lucrative jobs – and how his father is embroiled in a bidding war between the BBC and ITV.

Sources say Walsh Junior is being “inundated” with offers after he rose to fame alongside his dad on the ITV series Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad, in which the couple take on challenges while fighting in a camper van world travels.

Later this year, the Walshes will reunite to host the revival of popular ’90s show Gladiators, which airs Saturday nights on the BBC – a potential ‘showcase’ for the 25-year-old to enjoy even bigger shows than his father to secure .

Barney, whose mother is choreographer Donna Derby, also plays hapless would-be nurse Cameron Mickelthwaite on BBC series Casualty.

He took part in the show Catchphrase and played Ryan Cook in an episode of the BBC hit Death In Paradise.

Last year he appeared again alongside The Chase presenter Bradley in the ITV remake of The Darling Buds of May, The Larkins, in which he played PC Harness.

Barney inherited the acting bug as a child, attended drama school in Essex and landed his first audition at age 12 for the Artful Dodger in a West End production of Oliver!. He made his feature film debut as young Arthur in Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword.

Earlier this week it was revealed that Bradley, 63, is worth an estimated £18.6million. A TV insider said: “Bradley is really in top form at the moment and is doing his best. He is the point of contact for both the BBC and ITV; Now it’s his son’s turn.’

While Barney was starting out at ITV, the BBC was eyeing him as a potential star. Securing his role at Casualty is viewed as a “coup” by CEOs desperate for diverse young talent.
