Outstanding transfer request from Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid by Sourav Mahanty
Every summer there seems to be a transfer saga surrounding Kylian Mbappe’s future at PSG and a possible move to Real Madrid. This has been going on for years now, but it looks like we may be coming to a conclusion soon. And if the world champion should leave the French capital, Santiago Bernabeu seems to be his most likely destination.
It was recently revealed that Mbappe didn’t want to renew his contract at PSG. His current contract with the club runs until the summer of 2024, meaning he will become a free agent a year later.
PSG have also made their stance pretty clear. They want Mbappe to either extend his contract with the club in the coming weeks or part ways this summer so they don’t miss out on a transfer fee.
As reported by ESPN, despite Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s recent comments, Mbappe has no plans to renew his contract at PSG. He’s starting to suspect he might have to leave this summer and Real Madrid is his preferred option.
Mbappe passes transfer boost to Real Madrid
Real Madrid are rumored to be open to Mbappé’s move this summer if that’s what’s needed to bring the Frenchman to the Spanish capital. And the timing could work out just fine for them.
Karim Benzema left the club this summer, leaving Real Madrid without a first-choice centre-forward and without the face of the club. Mbappe could fill both roles if he arrives in this window.
Of course, there have been many twists and turns in the Mbappe transfer saga over the years. If we’ve learned one thing from them, it’s not to take anything for granted.
