In a recent interview on El Larguero, former Barcelona footballer Gerard Piqué spoke about his retirement from football and his view of the past and future. During the conversation, he surprised by saying that he does not miss the sport that has brought him so much success and recognition throughout his career.
Piqué, who announced his retirement at the end of last season, expressed that one cannot live on the past and that despite successes on the pitch, his focus is now on new projects and challenges outside of football. During the interview, Piqué was very direct: “It’s a period in my life that is over and when you make the decision to leave, you take it and I’m very cold about it. Looking back is of little use.” he said.

“It would be a mistake, in my opinion, to keep up and continue to enjoy all my successes,” he said. In this sense, he assured that, despite the great fame he has acquired, this past can no longer give him anything. “It was a good stage, but you have to keep going,” he added.
