Given the intensity of the thunderstorms announced in Wallonia on Sunday afternoon, as a precaution, the Liège authorities have decided to cancel the last day of the Ardentes. The 20,000 campers are therefore asked to leave the site calmly.

Coming from the north of France, a festival-goer had just arrived after a three-hour drive. He didn’t even have time to unpack his things. “I’m disgusted,” he told our journalist Louis Vandendriessche. I’ve always been a fan of Booba, it’s the first time I’ve seen him.” A festival-goer who “don’t know how he’s coming back” and who “still doesn’t believe in it”.
“Spent 300 euros and finally it’s canceled”
“Honestly it’s not cool, they warned us at the last moment,” complains another festival-goer, interviewed by our journalist Michaël Menten. We still had a very good festival and we thank them despite everything.” “I’ll take my stuff to the car, we’ll go home,” describes another festival-goer. 300 euros, that’s all I did for this festival day, and finally it’s cancelled. Well, it’s boring.” “To be honest, we’re disgusted, says one festival-goer. We stayed in shape for that final day.”
Around 11:30 a.m., the Liège authorities therefore made the difficult decision to cancel the last day of the festival, where 70,000 people were expected. The mayor speaks of a “difficult” but necessary decision. “This decision is based on the formal statement by the IRM (Royal Meteorological Institute, editor’s note) that places the zone in the orange phase with winds too strong compared to the facilities and with hail,” said the city’s mayor, Willy Demeyer , to our journalist Michaël Menten. The hailstones would be 5 cm in size. If we get any on our heads, we’ll fracture our skulls.”

Bus shuttles are organized to transport campers to Guillemins train station. Trains for festival goers stop at Guillemins station rather than Ans station. A pick-up station for people picking up festival-goers by car is located in Vottem, rue verte Voie, in the Aldi branch car park.
