On Saturday evening there was an armed attack on a residential building in the Saint-Michel district of Montreal.
Authorities received a call around 10:40 p.m. Saturday night about an argument allegedly escalating between two men at an apartment on Charland Avenue near Iberville Street.
The victim, a 55-year-old man, was stabbed in the upper body.
He was taken to a hospital where the authorities need not fear for his life.

A 51-year-old man was arrested at the scene. He was referred to an investigation center where he is received by investigators.
“We know that a party may have taken place in the apartment,” said SPVM spokesman Jean-Pierre Brabant. Several people were inside the building and were intoxicated, so the altercation may have occurred because of a conflict that would have escalated. But what is the origin of the conflict? We will try to understand that. We know that the two people knew each other, they will meet.
SPVM’s forensic identification technicians conducted an analysis of the crime scene and collected multiple pieces of evidence at the scene.
The investigators continue their investigation.
