The superstar caused a stir in April when she announced she was getting into the liquor business with Delola, a line of cocktails, despite previously declaring that she doesn’t drink alcohol. The 53-year-old singer addressed rumors about her drinking habits in an Instagram video this week. “I know a lot of people were like, ‘Oh, she doesn’t even drink, what does she do with a bunch of cocktails?’ And to be honest, that was true for a long time. I wasn’t drinking,” she began as she walked to a liquor store to buy a bottle of Delola.

“A few years ago, as you can see from several pictures of me over the past 10, maybe 15 years, I used to have an occasional cocktail. From time to time I like to drink a cocktail. I drink responsibly. I don’t drink to get completely drunk. I drink to socialize and have a good time and just to relax and unwind, but always in a responsible way.”

The “On the Floor” singer said she’s tried many different drinks over the years and loves White Russians and rose wine. However, she never found anything [qu’elle] truly loved,” which led her to create Delola.

But this new video also seems to have displeased some Internet users. In fact, she was criticized for opening up about her drinking habits during her marriage to Ben Affleck, who has long struggled with alcoholism.
