At least 23 people were injured in an accident involving a car and a CTA bus on Chicago’s Lake Shore Drive early Sunday morning.

The Chicago Fire Department tweeted about the incident just before 6:45 a.m. local time, giving the exact location of the incident.

According to CFD, three people were seriously injured and 13 were in good condition after the crash. Another seven people refused treatment.

The injured were taken to local hospitals.

According to the authorities, the car involved in the accident eventually caught fire.

Some CTA buses have been temporarily rerouted due to the blockage caused by the accident — Lake Shore Drive is closed in the area.
