Stephane Fallu was on the set of Bonsoir Bonsoir! this week with the host Jean Philippe Wauthier.
During his appearance on the late-night talk show, the comedian and host discussed the actions he is taking for young adults leaving foster care and youth centers in Quebec.
Indeed, a year ago, Stéphane opened a first house dedicated to this cause… and a second is in the pipeline!
“Six young people. There are also many of them who have made the transition, but they are young people from the DPJ. It is young people who are being left behind. Then we have a house for them there and we have super good news there. We’ll have a house for the girls! We’re going to build an annex next door for six girls from all over Quebec. Because you want, you don’t want to go back to your family at 18, with an ex who isn’t reliable or whatever… but we want to offer them a more stable environment (…) so that they can have a nice life, “reveals Stéphane Fallu .
The comedian then talks about a shocking statistic, which is that more than a third of 18-year-olds would end up walking out of youth centers on the street because at that age, as the star mentions, life is full of things I don’t know.
These houses give them a start in life.
“It really helps them and it’s a code of life, a way of life. You will also be taught the simple things. Since learning to live means brushing your teeth, life isn’t just about partying with friends. It’s about getting back to work,” says Stéphane.
A concern that affects the man behind the comedian, who himself lived in foster care.
What a great initiative… and a very touching moment!
