Wakanda forever! EA announces the Black Panther game in its new studio

Many Marvel franchises have been adapted into games over the past few years, but there’s always room for one more, right? A Black Panther game has been announced by EA and is in development at the publisher’s latest studio.

Cliffhanger Games, the company’s newly founded studio in Seattle, was responsible for the production. Directed by Kevin Stephens, who worked on Middleearth: Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War. Check out what he said about the title:

We strive to provide fans with the definitive and authentic Black Panther experience, giving fans more agency and control over the narrative than they have ever experienced in a narrativedriven video game. Wakanda is a superhero sandbox and our mission is to create an epic world for players who love Black Panther and want to explore the world of Wakanda as much as we do.

Black Panther game

The Black Panther game still has no release date or defined platforms. According to Stephens, the game is still in the early stages of production:

We’re still early in development and we still have a long way to go, but we know that the foundation of every great story is building an experienced team with diverse voices and perspectives, and that’s what we want to build, especially with a superhero as important as Pantera Schwarz.

Speaking of the diverse and experienced team, in addition to Stephen’s extensive résumé, the studio also includes other big names in the industry who have worked on franchises such as Halo and God of War. In short, they are preparing something promising at Cliffhanger.

It should be remembered that another game, this one in the hands of Skydance Media, will also feature the hero in action. The stories are independent and the fans are the winners at the end of the day.

In addition to the Black Panther game, other Marvel x EA titles are in the pipeline

The Black Panther game is the second in a threegame bundle that will result from the partnership between Marvel and Electronic Arts in the years to come. An Iron Man game based on Unreal Engine 5 is also in the pipeline. Check it out here!
