A winning comeback before the break

A winning comeback before the break

The Toronto Blue Jays woke up at the last moment and defeated the Detroit Tigers 4-3 at Comerica Park on Sunday.

Things were not looking good for manager John Schneider’s side until the ninth inning, which was limited to just three short hits. Remember that the day before, Queen City’s only formation had allowed their rivals to succeed in a game with no points or goals.

However, Danny Jansen changed the story of that encounter and allowed the Jays to enjoy a win before the break in the Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

The catcher knocked out an offer from pitcher Alex Lange, 414 feet from the plate. By this point, his teammate Matt Chapman was already out on the trails. The bang of two points allowed the visitors to even the score and prolong hostilities (seen in the main video).

In the tenth inning, Nathan Lukes hit a double that sent Akil Baddoo home. Endgame specialist Jordan Romano also had his say, tasked with defending the narrow lead his team had just secured.

The gunner had a strikeout and the other two Tigers hitters he faced hit low grounders. It was Romano’s 26th save in 2023. He also learned ahead of the day’s match that he would be celebrating the All-Star Game.

The 30-year-old right-hander replaces Houston Astros pitcher Framber Valdez on the American League roster. This is the second time in as many seasons that Romano has been invited to this event. The game, which brings together the best players of the current season, takes place this Tuesday at Seattle’s T-Mobile Park.

Édouard Julien gets all the points for his team in a defeat

With the exception of Edouard Julien’s performance, the Minnesota Twins were pathetic against the Baltimore Orioles.

The guests won at Target Field with 15:2. They won the series of three games against the Quebec club.

Julien brought up all his own points. In the first inning, he allowed Carlos Correa to step on the plate with a double. Five innings later, he hit a solo home run. It was his seventh long throw this season.

With the Orioles, Austin Hays, Ramon Urias, Aaron Hicks, Adleyrutschman and Anthony Santander (twice) used the Twins’ pitching generosity to hit home runs.
