Last week was the best of the Lula administration the same one that has won backtoback victories, including in the National Congress. I ask: What does the extreme right have to say or offer as an alternative other than the value war, the displacement of social networks and the creation of noise? Progressives must be wary of cheap provocateurs like MPs Eduardo Bolsonaro (PLSP) and Nikolas Ferreira (PLMG).
After the PL experienced an internal conflict over tax reform; After São Paulo Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republican) became the target of scoundrels on social media for defending reform and even being ridiculed by Jair Bolsonaro’s children, there was an urgent need to donate blood to cannibals. Also because, and this must be emphasized, what instructions did the expresident give to his subordinates?
Look, Eduardo appears in a sound car in Brasilia on Sunday and defends the arming of the population. It wasn’t enough. He conjured up supposed “indoctrinating professors” and said they were worse than drug dealers the latter, it should be noted, had nothing wrong with his father’s government. Through the intermediary of CACs, who were bandits, they armed themselves in earnest.
The stupid speech prompted justifiable outrage and reactions, and admittedly has a criminal perspective. Associate Professor Luciene Cavalcante (PSOLSP) appealed to the STF and filed a criminal complaint alleging incitement to commit crime, threats and unlawful embarrassment. The selected rapporteur is Nunes Marques. Should I guess what will happen or not?
MP Guilherme Boulos (PSOLSP) also appealed to the Chamber’s Ethics Council, demanding an apology for criminal acts. Flávio Dino asked the federal police to investigate the case. The Minister of Justice may request the opening of an investigation. Isn’t that exactly what Eduardo wanted? You have to think about when the reaction, even if it’s fair, turns into a banana peel.
As soon as Dino announced the decision, the deputy went to the networks and said:
“It is unfortunate to see that the federal police, an institution I am proud to belong to, is being politically abused to gratify the autocratic desires of the communists, while real criminals seem not to care that much.”
Eduardo is looking for a reason. He has no. He wants to use the reaction of the opponents to incite the somewhat discouraged digital militias. And it counts, it couldn’t be otherwise, with the lie.
In the sound truck, for example, he explained with reference to Venezuela:
“We know the story: disarmament took place there from 2012 to 2013. In 2016, Caracas became the capital with the highest relative homicide rate. Sometimes people are wrong when they think it’s Syria, Afghanistan or Iraq. NO! Venezuela is the most violent country in the world. And Brazil will go in that direction again. Unfortunately, there will be a lot of innocent life because the folks here at the Justice Department don’t want to give us all access to legitimate defense.”
In fact, Caracas is one of the most violent cities in the world, but beware: in 2006 a certain Hugo Chávez proclaimed:
“Venezuela needs a million wellequipped and armed men and women. I’m asking permission to buy another shipment of weapons because the gringos want to disarm us. We must defend our homeland.”
It imported 100,000 rifles from Russia and struck a multibillion arms deal with Spain. Nicolás Maduro launched a disarmament program in 2014. Nothing came of it. Weapons distributed to Chavista militias fell into the hands of organized crime and many of the militia members became common criminals themselves.
Do you know who gave a speech identical to Chávez’s here in Brazil? A certain Jair. At the ministerial meeting on April 22, 2020, he stated:
“I want the people, justice minister and defense minister, to arm themselves! This is the guarantee that there will be no son of a bitch running a dictatorship here! That it is easy to impose a dictatorship! Very simple!” Why am I arming the people? Because I don’t want a dictatorship. And I can’t hold her back. I can not? I can’t hold her back.”
By the way, the two photos at the top of this text are very meaningful. In Brazil, too, large caliber weapons, which were circulated as a result of fraudulent edicts, ended up in the hands of drug traffickers and militias via the criminal CACs.
May the progressives make the necessary clarifications. But it must be considered whether it is appropriate to respond to every diatribe and stupidity that fascistoids bring to the table. Stay tuned: there are more to come. Rest assured: the disgusting things Eduardo said reached more people after the reactions. Since they’re at the bottom, all you have to do is try to use the opponent’s strength to your advantage. And you shouldn’t give them that opportunity.
Sometimes just playing the guitar is enough.
