Angel, as she was also known, started as a singer in the 90s.
The premiere of “Xuxa, the Documentary” on Globoplay next Thursday 13th will bring back some characters that were part of the story of the Rainha dos Baixinhos. From the Mattos family, for example, the presenter did not only live with Marlene at the height of her television career.
Angela Mattos, the director’s sister, worked as a producer on her programs, started out as a singer with her support and was a very close friend. After splitting up with Marlene Mattos in 2002, the two also moved away and Angel, as she was also known, lives away from the limelight in Alto Paraíso, Goiás.
At her new address in Brazil’s Midwest, Angela Mattos directs the Projeto Semente Amarela and works with pregnant women, having completed numerous courses, studies and specializations, such as what she says she did in London as a Perinatal Pedagogue, according to her Syllabus on the project website.
Angela Mattos, mother of three, also now has a granddaughter, Sol, who she usually proudly posts with on her Instagram profile.
Only memories remain from the time of television. She took off as a singer in the early 1990s and even had songs on the charts and on soap opera soundtracks. “Patinho Feio”, for example, became the subject of the character of Luciana Vendramini in “Vamp”. Angel, as he was called at the time, released two albums on the Xuxa Discos label. “With ‘Xou da Xuxa’ we were a big family and I had the chance to be a singer. Now I only sing in the shower,” she said in a 2013 interview with EXTRA.
Angela Mattos was married to the singer Zé Felipe from the band Yahoo, who also appeared in Xuxa programs and with whom she was very close. So much so that the presenter is the godmother of all her children. Today they no longer speak to each other.
