Among the evacuees are the residents of Enchanting Island. As a precaution, they were ordered to evacuate.

Concrete blocks were placed at the entrance to the bridge. The campsite is flooded here.

“People who have been evacuated are asked to stay safe. They were taken care of and about fifty others were evacuated this morning. We ask that those living on the banks of the Montmorency River or any other watercourse stay tuned in and do not hesitate to leave residence.

The historical mention of Sainte-Brigitte-de-Laval dates back to December 25, 2020. At that time, the river had reached a flow rate of 960 cubic meters per second.

“At 966 we are beyond that. That’s why we make sure that teams are on site to monitor the infrastructure and roads.

In Baie-Saint-Paul, which was badly hit by the spring flood, the teams have been grounded since the night. Fortunately, no further flooding is expected.

Further details will follow in the morning. The TVA Nouvelles team is on site to take stock of the situation.
