Park attack: Russian submarine commander apparently shot while jogging Tagesspiegel

The deputy head of the Krasnodar mobilization department was shot dead in the southern Russian city. This is reported, among other things, by the Russian news agency Tass.

Stanislav Rzhitsky, who was also commanding a Russian Black Sea Fleet submarine, was shot four times while jogging in a park on the morning of 10 July and died at the scene. A criminal case has been opened over the murder, the news agency reported, citing law enforcement officials.

The Ukrainian military intelligence service also confirmed the incident. It says that Rzhitsky was shot seven times with a Makarov pistol.

Rzhitsky apparently commanded the submarine Krasnodar. According to Ukrainian media reports, the ship was involved in the bombardment of Ukrainian positions with Kalibr cruise missiles last July. (teaspoon)
