Santo Domingo, July 11 (RHC) Listín Diario, the newspaper with the largest circulation in the Dominican Republic, published this Tuesday that the tenacity and resilience of the Cuban people are a source of inspiration to overcome obstacles and in adverse circumstances to be successful.

The writer and journalist Raúl Pérez Peña pointed out that despite the blockade and the “sanctions” imposed by the United States, the Cuban people are reinventing themselves in politics and sports.

In his Banner column, Peña wrote that, politically, the leadership of Miguel Díaz Canel and all the governing bodies of the Cuban Revolution had demonstrated an extraordinary ability to reinvent themselves.

The most recent parliamentary elections and the passing of the Family Code prove this, said the editor of the culture supplement of this newspaper in the 1980s.

He pointed out that in sport, despite the uncertainty and the policy of co-opting imperialism, Cuban athletes excelled in international competitions, showing determination and exceptional skills.

Peña concluded that “these experiences, using the example of commander Fidel Castro (historical leader of the revolution), teach us that external limitations are not insurmountable barriers if you have the will and creativity to find solutions.” (Source: PL)
