The body of 62yearold German businessman HansPeter Mack, who disappeared a week ago, was found dismembered in a freezer in Thailand.

What happened:

The dismembered body of HansPeter Mack was found today in a freezer in Pattaya, Thailand. He was last seen on July 4 driving a Mercedes sedan in the Thai city. According to CBS News, the family had offered a reward of 3 million baht (R$421,000) for information on Mack’s whereabouts.

An electric saw, pruning shears and two plastic rollers were found next to the German’s body. His car was parked in a nearby parking lot, and there was evidence of an attempted destruction of evidence. Local police also reported that “a large sum of money” disappeared from the businessman’s bank account and may have been linked to the murder.

HansPeter was married to a Thai woman and lived in the country for a few years. On the day of his disappearance, he was supposed to meet his wife for lunch but did not show up and sent messages. According to local TV station Thai PBS, the businessman had not texted her in the five years they had been together.
