McDonald’s says goodbye to its McCafé Bakery.
Starting in July, McDonald’s will be phasing out its line of baked goods, including apple pies, blueberry muffins, and cinnamon rolls.
An Instagram account with the username Markie_devo claims that the products will be discontinued as early as July 15. McDonald’s said the timing will vary by restaurant.
“We always listen to our fans and tailor our menu to their requests,” McDonald’s USA told FOX Business.

The company said it will continue to offer chocolate chip cookies, baked apple pie and frozen desserts at its restaurants across the country.
However, some customers are not taking the news particularly well.
“They got rid of McDonald’s apple slices. Please wake me up from this nightmare!!!! I didn’t do anything that deserved it,” one customer wrote on Twitter.
Not everyone agrees.
“It was convenient [sic] if you just stood in line and tried to get something different to eat over a morning coffee. However, I could never recommend them because they never tasted fresh,” noted another user.

The McCafé Bakery range was first launched in restaurants nationwide in 2020. It was the first time baked goods had been added to McDonald’s core menu in more than eight years.

However, the fast-food chain has made changes to its menu in recent months to boost store traffic as rising costs continue to put pressure on consumer spending across markets.

In its most recent earnings announcement, the company said it was focusing on improving its core menu items like Big Mac with “cooking procedures and other minor changes like improved buns.”

The company still reported higher-than-expected sales for the full three-month period ended March as store traffic picked up.
Sales at U.S. stores open for at least a year rose 12.6%, driven by “successful operational execution at McDonald’s restaurants, effective core card-focused marketing campaigns, and continued digital and delivery growth.” the company.
