“I have to leave the stage. A storm is coming. Don’t blame the people at the festival, it’s a situation beyond our control. I’m sorry. I love you so much,” the Canadian rapper said at 8:45 p.m. after the song Not a Beanie.

FEQ leaders preferred to act pre-emptively before the storm reached Quebec “due to the presence of several young people in the Plains for hip-hop night,” explained communications director Samantha McKinley.

Fortunately, according to the authorities, the evacuations went smoothly. All sites had been evacuated when lightning and rain hit the capital.
