Fast food company Burger King has given the word “cheeseburger” a whole new meaning by adding a sandwich consisting of just two buns and 20 slices of yellow American cheese to its menu.
“I only managed to eat half of it. That’s a crazy amount of cheese to put in a burger. Food is good when the ingredients are well combined,” noted Im Jeepetch, a 25-year-old engineer, wiping his mouth.
In an interview with CNN, the young adult called “a bit too much” Burger King’s brand new sandwich, which the company describes as a “real cheeseburger” and has only been sold in branches in Thailand since Sunday.
However, the product, which retails for 109 baht – around US$4.13 – has been deemed a bit “too intense” by several consumers, despite the cheese’s popularity among young Thai customers, which is the idea behind the product could explain, according to American media.
“Maybe I won’t try again. I like a few slices of cheese in my burger, but it’s too much,” Alisa Chuengviroj, a 26-year-old entrepreneur, told CNN.
On its Facebook page, Burger King Thailand clarified that it was possible to add more cheese to the sandwich for customers who were not yet satisfied.
However, the CNN article gives no details on whether the product could ultimately cross the ocean.
