The Festival d’été programmer is planning a very emotional evening for Thursday night, with Robert Charlebois and Les Cowboys Fringants taking turns singing on the Plains of Abraham.

Like it or not, the health of singer Karl Tremblay, whose cancer treatments forced the cancellation of a Tuesday performance by the Cowboys Fringants in Alma, will add a special note to the group’s return. at FEQ.
“When we confirmed this show months ago, the situation wasn’t what it is today. It makes this moment more important and special,” says Louis Bellavance.
As for Charlebois, while he’s still in top form at 79, who knows if this won’t be his last career, Plains.
“Robert hasn’t announced a farewell tour, but none is forever. I know there will be emotions at this concert. It’s the expanded version of his show, with resources he didn’t have before. “It could easily have been headlining,” adds Mr. Bellavance, who believes we could be in for a historic night.
“This evening has the potential to become one that has a name and we say: were you there that night?”
No guests
Like Les Trois Accords on Monday night, Les Cowboys Fringants have opted for carte blanche without guests.
According to Louis Bellavance, the group wanted a production that would pay homage to 1980s rock concerts. Gabriel Poirier Galarneau supervised the visual design and lighting was entrusted to Jean-François Couture.
“They went in search of lighting equipment that, to the discerning amateur, might be a nod to a 1985 Van Halen production. The lighting will be in retro style. The show will have a flair like it’s never done before.
