Putin, who attended the event in the Russian capital, stressed that in the face of external challenges his country is responding with increased quality and efficiency, as well as spreading freedom, the TASS news agency stressed on Thursday.
The Russian President recalled that a similar situation arose in 2014 “when the first wave of external sanctions led to the active development of some sectors, including agriculture”.
“Today something similar is happening in industry and technology. “We understand that in the current conditions, the most important thing for our development is to focus our efforts on priority tasks,” he said.
Putin explained that these are the areas where Russia already has global technologies and goods, such as nuclear energy, artificial intelligence and others.
The Future Technologies Forum is one of the most prestigious scientific events in the field of quantum technologies, the development of which in recent years has become a priority task worldwide, as it is believed to be able to guarantee the technological sovereignty of every country.
Quantum technologies are considered strategic in terms of national security and macroeconomics, as they can be used in financial services, aerospace and automotive, transportation, energy, pharmaceuticals and cybersecurity, among others.
In addition, a machine was shown at the event that distributes keys to an entire system with the aim of encrypting sensitive data and protecting it from hacker attacks. Although the device is still in the certification process, several Russian companies are already starting to use it.
This type of technology could also be useful in solving problems in big cities, such as traffic: it would be possible to check timetables, which would be much better controlled, or, for example, to model the operation of traffic lights to facilitate traffic. Citizens.
